AMD Ryzen 5 4650G Gaming PC – Radeon Vega 7 Integrated Graphics

This AMD Ryzen 5 4650G Gaming PC is an affordable entry-level system designed for everyday computing, light gaming and customers looking for an upgradeable starting point.

The PC features an AMD Ryzen 5 4650G 6-core, 12-thread processor with integrated AMD Radeon Vega 7 graphics, 8GB DDR4 memory and a fast 512GB NVMe M.2 SSD.

Please note: this PC uses integrated Radeon Vega 7 graphics rather than a dedicated gaming graphics card. The graphics are designed for basic starter gaming and are best suited to lighter games, esports titles and older games rather than demanding modern AAA titles.

The current configuration includes 8GB DDR4 memory. Because the integrated graphics use system memory, the 8GB configuration provides less gaming performance and headroom than a 16GB configuration. If you intend to continue using the integrated Vega 7 graphics, we recommend upgrading to 16GB RAM.

For the biggest improvement in gaming performance, we recommend upgrading to a dedicated graphics card. Moving from integrated Vega 7 graphics to a dedicated GPU can provide a massive increase in graphics performance and is the preferred upgrade for customers wanting to play more demanding modern games.

Basic Starter Graphics – AMD Radeon Vega 7

The PC uses the integrated AMD Radeon Vega 7 graphics built into the Ryzen 5 4650G processor. The graphics have 7 cores operating at up to 1900MHz and do not require a separate graphics card.

Vega 7 is suitable for basic starter gaming, lighter games, esports titles, older games and less demanding applications. It is not designed to deliver the same performance as a modern dedicated gaming graphics card.

The graphics performance is also affected by the amount and configuration of system memory. With only 8GB RAM, this PC has less memory available for both Windows and the integrated graphics. For customers keeping the APU graphics, 16GB DDR4 is recommended.

Recommended Upgrade Path

There are two main upgrade options depending on how you intend to use the PC.

Option 1 – Upgrade to 16GB RAM

If you mainly want to play lighter games using the integrated Radeon Vega 7 graphics, upgrading from 8GB to 16GB DDR4 is recommended.

Additional memory gives Windows and the integrated graphics more resources to work with and can improve overall system responsiveness and gaming performance where memory capacity is a limitation.

Option 2 – Add a Dedicated Graphics Card

If gaming performance is your priority, a dedicated graphics card is the much bigger upgrade.

A dedicated NVIDIA GeForce or AMD Radeon graphics card has its own graphics memory and substantially more graphics processing capability than the integrated Vega 7 solution. This can transform the system from a basic starter gaming PC into a much more capable gaming machine.

For modern AAA gaming, a dedicated graphics card upgrade is strongly recommended.

Gaming Performance

The following figures are indicative estimates for the integrated Radeon Vega 7 graphics with the 8GB memory configuration. Actual FPS can vary depending on the game, resolution, graphics settings, memory configuration, drivers, Windows configuration and game updates.

Game Estimated 1080p FPS Typical Settings
Valorant 60–90 FPS Low / Medium
League of Legends 70–110 FPS Medium
Rocket League 50–75 FPS Performance / Low
Roblox 50–90 FPS Medium
Minecraft 50–80 FPS Low / Medium
Fortnite 35–55 FPS Performance Mode / Low
Counter-Strike 2 35–55 FPS Low
Overwatch 2 35–55 FPS Low
Grand Theft Auto V 40–60 FPS Normal / Low
Forza Horizon 5 25–40 FPS Low

FPS disclaimer: These figures are indicative estimates only and are not guaranteed benchmark results. Actual gaming performance will vary depending on game updates, graphics settings, resolution, drivers, memory configuration and individual system configuration.

What Games Can It Play Well?

The integrated Vega 7 graphics are best suited to lighter and less demanding games. With sensible graphics settings, the system can be suitable for games such as:

  • Valorant
  • League of Legends
  • Rocket League
  • Roblox
  • Minecraft
  • Fortnite using Performance Mode
  • Counter-Strike 2 using lower settings
  • Older PC games
  • Indie games
  • Less demanding esports titles

These types of games are a much better match for the integrated graphics than demanding modern AAA games.

Games That Would Benefit From a Dedicated GPU

More demanding games such as modern AAA releases, graphically intensive open-world games and newer games with high graphics requirements are not the ideal match for the integrated Vega 7 graphics.

If you want to play demanding games at 1080p with higher graphics settings and smoother frame rates, we recommend upgrading to a dedicated graphics card.

AMD Ryzen 5 4650G Processor

The AMD Ryzen 5 4650G is a 6-core, 12-thread processor with a 3.7GHz base frequency and up to 4.2GHz Turbo frequency.

The processor provides suitable performance for everyday computing, web browsing, office applications, media playback and multitasking. Its integrated Radeon graphics also allow the system to operate without a separate graphics card.

8GB DDR4 Memory – Upgrade Recommended

The system currently includes 8GB DDR4 memory.

For general everyday computing this provides a basic starting configuration. However, because the Radeon Vega 7 graphics are integrated into the processor and use system memory, 8GB can limit gaming performance and available memory.

If you intend to continue using the integrated graphics, we recommend upgrading the system to 16GB DDR4. This provides more memory for Windows, games and the integrated graphics to share.

The memory is upgradeable, allowing the system to be expanded as your requirements increase.

512GB NVMe M.2 SSD

A 512GB NVMe M.2 SSD provides fast storage for Windows, applications, games and personal files.

NVMe SSD technology provides fast system responsiveness and shorter loading times compared with traditional mechanical hard drives.

The storage is upgradeable, allowing additional or larger storage to be installed in the future.

CIT Volt White Gaming Case

The PC is housed in the CIT Volt White mATX Gaming Case, featuring a tempered glass panel and ARGB lighting on the front.

The case includes an ARGB LED fan and ARGB strip lighting, giving the system a distinctive gaming appearance.

  • CIT Volt White mATX Gaming Case
  • Tempered glass
  • ARGB strip light front
  • 1 x ARGB LED fan
  • Micro-ATX design

500W 80+ Silent Power Supply

The system is powered by a 500W 80+ silent power supply with a 12cm fan.

The system configuration is designed to allow future upgrades, including additional memory and a dedicated graphics card where compatible.

AMD A520M Motherboard

The system uses an AMD A520M chipset motherboard, providing the platform for the Ryzen 5 4650G processor and DDR4 memory.

The motherboard provides a suitable foundation for this entry-level PC and allows the system to be upgraded over time.

Windows 11 Home

The PC is supplied with a Microsoft Windows 11 Home Refurbisher Licence.

Windows provides a familiar desktop environment for gaming, web browsing, office applications, streaming and everyday computing.
